DSI PhysioTel™ Implant Feature Summary

Scientists are able to study a number of physiological parameters in laboratory mice and small and large animals using DSI PhysioTel™ Implant Specifications. DSI offers four series of PhysioTel™ implants to measure different parameters:

  • PhysioTel™ Digital (L, M) implants are remotely programmable and can measure pressure, biopotentials, temperature and activity in addition to digitally encoded data in large animals. Every implant in this series has smart battery saving functionality. Enabled with social housing capabilities, Digital can also monitor from multiple animals in the same cage with minimal hardware. This is DSI's highest performing large animal telemetry implant.
  • PhysioTel™ Hybrid Digital (HD) series implants measure combinations of pressure, biopotentials, glucose, temperature and activity in addition to digitally encoded data in small animals. Every transmitter in this series has battery life monitoring capabilities.
  • PhysioTel™ PA series implants measure pressure (P) and activity (A) in mice, small animals and large animals.
  • PhysioTel™ TA series implants measure temperature (T) and activity (A) in mice, small animals and large animals.
  • PhysioTel™ EA, CA, ETA and CTA series implants measure biopotentials (E, C) such as ECG, EEG and EMG as well as temperature (T) and activity (A) in mice, small animals and large animals.
  • PhysioTel™ Multiplus series transmitters measure combinations of pressure (P), biopotentials (E, X, C), respiratory impedance (R), temperature (T) and activity (A).
  • Note that only the HD-S11, HD-S21, and L series implants with 8 cm pressure catheters are recommended for cardiac ventricular pressure monitoring.
