DSI Events

American Heart Association Hypertension 2018 Scientific Sessions

AHA
Considered one of the most important medical meetings on this subject in the world, the conference includes oral and poster presentations selected from abstracts submitted by clinical and basic researchers, followed by discussions led by leading authorities. With experts in the fields of hypertension and its relationship to cardiac and kidney disease, stroke, obesity, and genetics, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with cross-disciplinary researchers from around the world.

Why DSI?
  • Fully implantable telemetry that collects continuous high quality data
  • Acquire data from conscious, freely moving laboratory animals
  • Stress-free data collection while reducing risk of infection
  • Various sizes to support a range of research models (from mice to non-human primates)
  • Knowledgeable and responsive global support team that will ensure you have full confidence with your system and acquiring the data you need for your studies

DSI Products
DSI products are used in cardiovascular research to study hypertension, cardiometabolism, arrythmias, atherosclerosis, heart failure, MI, stroke, and drug safety, including CNS safety assessment. Some of the biomarkers that can be collected include blood pressure, heart rate, blood glucose, EEG, EMG, heart rate variabilitybaroreflexpulse wave velocity, ECGleft ventricular pressure, and many more.

Cardiovascular
Small Animal
PhysioTel HD-X and HD-S series telemetry implants are used in small animals such as mice, rats, ferrets or guinea pigs. These implants are capable of measuring pressure, temperature, activity and biopotential signals.

Large Animal
PhysioTel Digital M and L series implants are designed for single use or long-term implantation in animals of rabbit size or larger. These implants are capable of measuring pressure, temperature, activity and biopotential signals.

Metabolism
The HD XG and M series continuous glucose telemetry implants offer preclinical researchers a novel solution to obtain continuous, real-time, blood glucose, temperature, and activity measurements in laboratory mice, rats and large animals. This solution serves many research areas including diabetes, obesity, and other metabolic diseases, including cardiometabolism.

Hardwired Monitoring System for Small Animal
DSI’s hardwired (tethered) solutions provide a minimally invasive method to offer continuous measurement (EEG, EMG, EOG, etc.) during neuroscience studies with small animals.  Tethered solutions allow monitoring of up to 12 EEG/EMG channels per animal.

About DSI Events

Data Sciences International (DSI) is involved in over 60 events every year. These include scientific meetings such as industry trade shows, courses and seminars, workshops, as well as educational user groups and symposia all over the world.

DSI supported educational events are scientific meetings organized in cooperation with a local institution or society, pharmaceutical company, university, or local telemetry user group. Educational event meetings serve as an educational forum in which researchers can freely share current scientific information with their peers, students, and other interested scientists.

Common to the general theme of the meetings is the data collected through physiological monitoring of freely moving conscious laboratory animals made possible through the use of fully implantable telemetry technology.

Presentations and posters on the latest methods employed by the presenting researchers enable those attending to benefit from the as yet unpublished work of peers. Presentations can be on a wide range of related research topics including surgical implantation methods, data analysis methods, treatment effects of new pharmaceutical compounds, new animal models, behavioral and physiological interactions, basic research on physiological systems, and numerous other whole animal chronic monitoring research topics.

Meetings are held in classroom style with ample time allowed for questions and discussion among the participants. Typical audience sizes run from 40 to 120.
