David Balcom was named Senior Vice President, Operations at Harvard Bioscience in July, 2022. Prior to this role, Balcom worked with Cirtec Medical, a full-service contract design, development and manufacturing business supporting products across a broad spectrum of Medical Device sectors, where he also served as Senior Vice President of Operations. Balcom’s career includes 15 years of broad operations work with Boston Scientific, St. Jude Medical and Abbott. Throughout his career, Balcom has spearheaded the successful development and execution of efficiency and growth strategies across an array of functional responsibilities including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, R&D, program management, facilities and freight and distribution. Balcom transitioned to the Medical Device industry after serving for six years in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer Captain. He earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY and later an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Colorado.
