Product & Application Overview
The Dataquest® RespiRATE™ software is a simple and effective solution for collecting respiratory rate data, in small animals, from Data Sciences PhysioTel™ blood pressure telemetry implants. RespiRATE™ software is easily installed and integrates seamlessly with the Dataquest A.R.T. software and telemetry hardware.
RespiRATE™ is a digital signal processing technology which derives respiratory rate from blood pressure waveforms. Data can be collected for extended periods without interruption and the animal is able to remain in its home cage, thus minimizing acclimation time and stress from handling.
Thorough analysis confirmed that the data is comparable to plethysmograph derived data over a wide range of physiological conditions. RespiRATE™ provides a derived respiratory waveform for easier validation of the data
A complete system consists of blood pressure implants, receivers, a data exchange matrix, an ambient pressure monitor, Dataquest® A.R.T. acquisition board/software and the RespiRATE™ software. One DSI RespiRATE™ system can collect and display respiratory rate information on 42 animals while the Dataquest® A.R.T. system also provides other parameters (mean, diastolic and systolic blood pressure, heart rate and activity).
