DSI APR-1 (Ambient Pressure Reference)

The Ambient Pressure Reference Monitor (APR-1) is a special type of barometer that measures atmospheric pressure providing dynamic corrections via a digital signal to the computer. An APR-1 is required when measuring pressure via pressure transmitters in order to compensate for the absolute (relative to a vacuum) measurements taken by the transmitters. All local environmental pressure fluctuations and changes in ambient barometric pressure are automatically corrected against measurements obtained by the Dataquest system. Thus, the APR-1 is a necessary component of each DSI telemetry system where accurate pressure measurements are required.
