DSI PhysioTel® ETA-F10 for Mice

Researchers use DSI’s PhysioTel® ETA-F10 transmitter to measure biopotential (ECG, EEG or EMG), temperature and activity data in mice.  The ETA-F10 is the smallest of the single channel biopotential transmitter series; other transmitter models in the PhysioTel® EA, ETA, CTA, CA transmitter series include ETA-F20 and EA-F20 transmitters for mice, CTA-F40 and CA-F40 transmitters for small animals and the CTA-D70 for large animals.

The ETA-F10 is most commonly used for cardiovascular research, where ECG and heart rate data are desired; other uses include the collection of EEG data for central nervous system (CNS) applications.  Similar to other biopotential transmitters, the ETA-F10 is completely implantable with flexible leads that extend from the transmitter body and serve as sensing electrodes.

Specifications are nominal. Some parameters, such as minimum animal weight, may vary depending on research methodology and preference. For example, some researchers may implant the DSI PhysioTel® ETA-F10 transmitter in mice smaller than 17 grams. Larger cage sizes also can be accommodated with special configurations. Minimum animal weight may vary based upon placement location, surgical skill and strain of animal used. Specifications, performance and accuracy are valid for the warranted battery life and only when data are recorded using Dataquest A.R.T. with factory-supplied calibration values. Transmitters may work over wider ranges with reduced accuracy.
