| DSI PhysioTel® PA-C10 for Mice |
Scientists measure pressure and activity in mice using DSI’s PhysioTel® PA series transmitter model PA-C10. The PA-C10 model is the smallest and lightest of the PhysioTel® PA series. Other models in the PhysioTel® PA series transmitter series include PA-C40 for small animals and PA-D70 for large animals. This model is capable of measuring arterial, ocular, uterine, penile, bladder, pleural and left ventricular pressure. Other parameters such as heart rate, systolic, diastolic and mean pressure are also possible. Similar to all models in the PA transmitter series, the PA-C10 is completely implantable, eliminating the need for flushing and other catheter maintenance issues. |

Specifications are nominal. Some parameters, such as minimum animal weight, may vary depending on research methodology and preference. For example, some researchers have implanted the DSI PhysioTel® PA-C10 transmitter in mice smaller than 17 grams. Larger cage sizes also can be accommodated with special configurations. Minimum animal weight may vary based upon placement location, surgical skill and strain of animal used. Specifications, performance and accuracy are valid for the warranted battery life and only when data are recorded using Dataquest A.R.T. with factory-supplied calibration values. Transmitters may work over wider ranges with reduced accuracy.
When measuring pressure in mice, small animals, and large animals using DSI transmitters, it may be necessary to use an Ambient Pressure Reference Monitor to ensure accurate pressure measurements.
