DSI PhysioTel® Transmitter Feature Summary
PhysioTel® Transmitter Specifications
A small implantable transmitter that senses, processes and transmits information via telemetry from within an animal of any size — mouse, small animal or large animal — is one component of the complete DSI System. The DSI transmitters are designed for monitoring and collecting data from conscious, freely moving laboratory animals and are available in a variety of sizes to accommodate species and cage size requirements.
Parameters measured by researchers and scientists include arterial pressure, venous pressure, left ventricular pressure, intra-ocular pressure, bladder pressure, kidney pressure, ECG, EMG, EEG, EOG, temperature, activity, as well as other parameters. DSI offers a variety of transmitters to improve data quality and simplify studies.
Each transmitter implant contains one or more sensors, depending on your needs, plus a battery and an electronics module. Some models contain a sensor consisting of high-quality flexible leads which detect bioelectric events such as ECG and EEG measurements. Other models use a thermistor or pressure sensor integral to the electronics module. All DSI transmitters incorporate a magnetically activated “on-off” switch to conserve battery power in vivo or ex vivo.
Quality is built into DSI PhysioTel® Transmitters throughout the manufacturing process. Each implant is 100% inspected, tested and burned-in prior to shipment. DSI transmitters are biocompatible and are provided to the researcher calibrated and in sterile packaging ready for immediate use.
